Interview Prep Guide
What the Interview Is—and Isn’t
This isn’t some corporate formality.
It’s a short conversation to find out if you’re someone the crew can rely on.
We’re not grading your answers—we’re watching how you show up and present yourself:
-
Do you take accountability?
-
Do you own your past work?
-
Do you show up like this matters?
If you’re just looking to say what we want to hear, this isn’t for you.
How to Show Up:
-
Clean, ready, and like this job matters to you. Because it matters to us.
-
You don’t need to be dressed up—but don’t show up like you just rolled out of bed.
-
Be respectful and open to questions.
What to Bring:
-
Good attitude.
-
Any trade or safety certs (if you have them).
-
Names of past employers—or someone who can speak honestly about how you work.
-
Pen and paper to take notes in case you need to.
Virtual Interviews:
-
When setting up for the interview, double or even triple check the time scheduled. it's easy to misread it with the excitement of a potential new job.
-
Please don't try to do the interview while driving your vehicle. While being in your parked vehicle is fine, we will end the call if you are driving.
-
We recommend testing your internet or phone connection prior to the call to prevent any foreseeable issues.
-
If you'd like to use a camera and/or headphones we recommend testing the connection to your computer prior to the interview.
-
Access the interview link 4-5 minutes early to allow time to connect to the call.
What You Should Be Thinking About:
Be ready to explain:
-
What kind of jobs/tasks you’ve done before
-
Why you left each job
-
What your past boss would say about your work and you as a person
-
Whether or not you’re ready to work long hours and take direction
-
What happens if something goes wrong on your end—do you have mental processes to help push through?
What Not to Do:
-
Don’t lie. If you need to lie to get hired, this isn’t the job for you. Our questions are designed to detect lies very quickly.
-
Don’t bash your old employers. If they were part of the problem—you likely were as well.
-
Keep all devices put away during the interview unless if its needed. We'll give you our undivided attention and expect the same in return.
The Whole Point:
This isn’t about tricking your way in.
It’s about owning who you are—and showing you’re someone worth putting on the crew.
If you are, great. You’ve already got an edge.
If you’re not—this saves both of us the time.
We're looking forward to learning more about you and hope this guide helps you be better prepared.
